Accountant Handover
A smoother year end
Good bookkeeping makes year-end easier for everyone. I keep your Xero records up to date, reconciled and supported by the right paperwork.
Your accountant receives a well-organised set of figures to work from, with any outstanding points clearly flagged rather than left for them to unravel.
Behind the submissions
More goes into year-end than you might think
Preparing annual accounts involves far more than transferring figures from Xero into a set of statements. Your accountant needs to review the records, check that everything has been treated correctly, investigate anything unusual and make the necessary year-end adjustments. Trawling through potentially thousands of transactions takes time, and patience.
When the bookkeeping is incomplete or messy, that work grows quickly. Missing paperwork, unreconciled balances and unexplained transactions all take time to untangle.
Keeping the records in good order throughout the year gives your accountant a much better starting point – and helps make their time, and your fee, far more worthwhile.
Year-end handover
Ready for your accountant
Before handover, I’ll bring the bookkeeping up to the agreed date, reconcile the bank accounts and work through any outstanding queries with you. Anything that remains unresolved will be clearly flagged, so your accountant knows exactly where things stand.
They’ll have organised access to Xero, the relevant reports and supporting documents, giving them a clean and consistent starting point for preparing your accounts.
Keeping things moving
Working directly with your accountant
I’m happy to liaise with your accountant, answer bookkeeping queries and provide any additional reports or information they need during the year-end process.
It keeps questions with the right person, reduces the back-and-forth in your inbox and allows your accountant to focus on preparing the accounts and advising you.
