About Me
Technical whizz. Bookkeeper extraordinaire.
Alright… maybe not quite. I’m human, just like you. But I do care a lot about getting things right and making your business feel a whole lot less overwhelming.
Qualification hoarder
I’ve collected more letters than I strictly need, becuase “good enough” has never really been my thing.
Process lover
I like things to have a rhythm. A loose plan, a bit of structure, and everything feels a lot more manageable.
Naturally Curious
If something doesn’t quite make sense, I’ll keep digging until it does. Let’s just say, I know my way around a Google rabbit hole.
How I got here
From running businesses to helping others run theirs
I never planned to become a bookkeeper.
For years, my work was mostly creative. I spent around a decade as a photographer, built websites, wore all the hats most small business owners end up wearing… and like a lot of people, bookkeeping was just one of those jobs that had to be done somewhere between everything else.
Then in 2021, I started helping with the finances for my husband’s electrical business.
Initially it was just practical support – keeping things organised, processing invoices, VAT returns, managing customer and supplier accounts, that sort of thing. But somewhere along the way, I realised I genuinely enjoyed it.
Not just the organising and tidying (though I’ll admit there is something deeply satisfying about a reconciled bank feed!). But the sense of clarity it gave us – the way the numbers suddenly made our decisions feel lighter.
As my experience grew – through business and professional development, and spending time working in an accountancy practice – I discovered what I really love isn’t spreadsheets, it’s the people behind them. We are all trying to build something meaningful and still have a life at the end of the day.
Now I help other business owners make sense of their figures. I help them understand what’s really happening in their business, and feel a bit more grounded in the process.
It’s work I never expected to love, but here I am, and I’m so glad I found it!
How I do it
I've never really believed in the "burn the candle at both ends" version of success.
Some people thrive on that pace, but for me it’s always felt like a life lived slightly out of tune. I’ve always wanted something more balanced; a business that supports a full life – family, work, rest – without asking me to sacrifice one for the other.
And that balance doesn’t mean being absent. Nor does it mean clients come second. In fact, it’s the opposite!
Clear boundaries make me more present, more focused, and more reliable for the people I support. When I’m at work, I’m fully at work – attentive, thoughtful, and committed. When I’m with my family, I’m present there too. And that separation is what allows me to show up consistently and without burnout. My clients get someone who is steady, not stretched thin. Someone who replies within set hours, not at midnight.
And of course, there will be the occasional holiday or family moment, but I communicate, plan ahead, and make sure my clients are supported.
Why I do it
To help lifestyle-led business owners have confidence in their business, space in their lives and the reassurance of having someone in their corner.
Because many of the business owners I work with want the same things I do: calm, room to breathe, and support that’s rooted in honesty.
Sometimes that involves gentle truths. Sometimes the numbers tell a story that needs attention. Sometimes they ask for change. Sometimes they reveal the gap between the life you want, and the reality you’re living.
But I believe those truths land differently when someone is holding them with you.
Invi isn’t just bookkeeping to me. It’s my way of helping people feel more supported, more informed and a little less alone in running a business.
